Day 19 - VIDEO: Sure
Our videoblogging community has worked on a number of group projects such as Videoblogging Week 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009. There was also a couple years of Carp Caviar orchestrated by the quietly creative, Erik Nelson. The archive for these projects are gone, but here are my two contributions: 2006 and 2008. There’s also NaVloPoMo2007. And of course there was Semanal where we all tried to post every week for all of 2008.
I’m really amazed at the quality of video I see these days. Either the video/film people have finally embraced the web…or regular peole are just getting better at it. Probably a little of both. And it’s been less than five years since all this started.
Anyway here’s my contribution shot on my iPhone. In memory of my mom, Nancy Jean Dedman, 1949-2009.

My Son The Artist When I have something busy to do on a weekend, I like to keep Gaige well occupied, like France in the 1940's. The best way to do this is to set him up in the driveway with a huge roll of photography backdrop paper and all his paints. On this day, our little Van Gogh was extremely productive, using almost every last drop of paint, glitter glue and utensil he owns. His own body is as much a canvas as the paper.

For the month of November I will be posting at least 30 videos. 30 videos in 30 days. Each day I will post a video of something different around the house. We’ll start with item #30 and make our way to #1, Countdown style. #30 – Custom Gameboard pieces.

I used this music on Vlomo Day 3 last year, too – but tongue in cheek, at the start of The Placenta Video. I know it’s schmaltzy, but sometimes you find a piece of music which fits a video so perfectly that you just can’t not use it, even though your cheese alarm is waking people up three streets away.
Kids
I can tell you right now that I’m not doing the 30 videos in 30 days thing. But seeing that NaVloPoMo is happening I took a look through some of things I’ve shot on my phone and found these. Over the last year a lot of new kids have moved into the neighborhood. This is what they look like from in front of my house.

Garry Bradbury @ Wired Lab Open Day
Garry Bradbury & Alan LAMB's performance - live mixing in the pitch of "B" (also the pitch of Bees in chorus) - Bradbury selected some of the raw wires sounds and compiled them together into a georgeous layered ambient piece, and Lamb played the wire with a large bow - such an amazing physical performance with simply beautiful sounds. this was the highlight performance of the night for me. masterful!! Blowing Leaves
Day 2 of NaVloPoMo. I blew leaves for 4.5 hours yesterday. Here's a few shots. I tried playing with a few different camera angles here to get in touch with my inner artist. (also after 30 minutes, blowing leaves gets really boring). Fair warning, check your volume before playing.

I missed my fathers passing in the hospital. Just saw the end of a white body bag. Got there too late. They need the room for another admission ya know!
