Blowing Leaves
Day 2 of NaVloPoMo. I blew leaves for 4.5 hours yesterday. Here's a few shots. I tried playing with a few different camera angles here to get in touch with my inner artist. (also after 30 minutes, blowing leaves gets really boring). Fair warning, check your volume before playing.

My Son The Artist When I have something busy to do on a weekend, I like to keep Gaige well occupied, like France in the 1940's. The best way to do this is to set him up in the driveway with a huge roll of photography backdrop paper and all his paints. On this day, our little Van Gogh was extremely productive, using almost every last drop of paint, glitter glue and utensil he owns. His own body is as much a canvas as the paper.

I can tell you right now that I’m not doing the 30 videos in 30 days thing. But seeing that NaVloPoMo is happening I took a look through some of things I’ve shot on my phone and found these. Over the last year a lot of new kids have moved into the neighborhood. This is what they look like from in front of my house.

Halloween 2008This year for Vlog Month I'm going to try and meet the challenge by posting smaller, unedited clips from the archive that I have not used yet. Starting with this clip of Gaige and his best friend Kayden at the Fullerton YMCA Halloween festival from last year. Carefree and full of the energy of youth they frolic to the tune of Abba's Dancing Queen.

I used this music on Vlomo Day 3 last year, too – but tongue in cheek, at the start of The Placenta Video. I know it’s schmaltzy, but sometimes you find a piece of music which fits a video so perfectly that you just can’t not use it, even though your cheese alarm is waking people up three streets away.
